Matrilineal diversity and population history of Norwegians

چکیده

Background While well known for its Viking past, Norway's population history and the influences that have shaped genetic diversity are less understood. This is particularly true with respect to demography, migration patterns, dialectal regions, despite there being curated historical records past several centuries. In this study, we undertook an analysis of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) within country elaborate from a matrilineal perspective. Methods We aggregated 1174 partial modern Norwegian mtDNA sequences published literature subjected them detailed statistical phylogenetic by regions localities. further contextualized ancestry Norwegians data Mesolithic, Iron Age, historic period populations. Results Modern mtDNAs fell into eight West Eurasian (N, HV, JT, I, U, K, X, W), five East (A, F, G, N11, Z), one African (L2) haplogroups. Pairwise molecular variance (AMOVA) estimates all indicated they were differentiated each other at 1.68% (p < 0.001). same region also showed similarities other, although differences between subpopulations observed. addition, certain lineages in found among prehistoric populations, suggesting some level continuity over hundreds many thousands years. Conclusions provides picture variation Norway light topography, settlement history, migrations

The dawn of human matrilineal diversity.

The quest to explain demographic history during the early part of human evolution has been limited because of the scarce paleoanthropological record from the Middle Stone Age. To shed light on the structure of the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) phylogeny at the dawn of Homo sapiens, we constructed a matrilineal tree composed of 624 complete mtDNA genomes from sub-Saharan Hg L lineages. We paid parti...

The congruence between matrilineal genetic (mtDNA) and geographic diversity of Iranians and the territorial populations

Objective(s):From the ancient era, emergence of Agriculture in the connecting region of Mesopotamia and the Iranian plateau at the foothills of the Zagros Mountains, made Iranian gene pool as an important source of populating the region. It has differentiated the population spread and different language groups. In order to trace the maternal genetic affinity between Iranians and other populatio...

Analysis of genetic diversity through population history

The idea that diversity in the population of a genetic algorithm affects the algorithm’s search efficiency is widely accepted. However, little is known about the amount of node level diversity present in Genetic Programming (GP) runs. In this paper, we introduce several techniques for measuring the diversity of a population based on the genetic history of the individuals. We then apply these me...

Genetic diversity and population history of golden monkeys (Rhinopithecus roxellana).

Golden monkey (Rhinopithecus roxellana), namely the snub-nosed monkey, is a well-known endangered primate, which distributes only in the central part of mainland China. As an effort to understand the current genetic status as well as population history of this species, we collected a sample of 32 individuals from four different regions, which cover the major habitat of this species. Forty-four ...
